Quitting My Day Job
Last month, I took the biggest leap of my life (to date) and left my day job to work on the homestead full-time. From this point forward, I’m devoting my time and energy to our gardens, animals, bees, Salves & Such products, and my energy healing practice. Life's Too Short for Fake Butter
Dan has fond childhood memories of his mamaw churning fresh butter on the front porch of her Appalachian Mountain home. As soon as we started homesteading, Dan added butter churning to his short list of projects for the homestead. With things a little slower around here during the winter months, we decided this would be the perfect time to try our hand at butter making. -

Arrival Day
We moved from our suburban "American Dream" home to the 10 country acres of our homestead on a rainy Spring day in 2016. We were so excited to get started on our homesteading adventure that we began planning gardens, gathering beekeeping equipment, and picking out chicken breeds as soon as our offer on the property was accepted. Our planning, though, moved quite a bit faster than the purchase of the new place.
